CERTIFICATIONS

For the consumer, choosing a landscape or snow removal contractor has always been an uncertain and difficult decision. Beyond the basic guideline questions to make sure the company is fully insured, being referred by someone you know and perhaps checking with a Better Business Bureau, there has not been any other consistent information by which one company could be measured against another. Currently the landscape and snow removal industries are providing a national certification process which will provide cutting edge companies, owners and managers with criteria to establish themselves (and their companies) as leaders in the industry. Troy Clogg Landscape Associates, LLC, believes in these programs as a way to provide our clients with the best possible service. CERTIFICATION CRITERIA:

CSP - Certified Snow Professional
An (8) hour written exam covering the mechanics and technical aspects of snow and ice management, business, accounting, sales, marketing, risk, health safety and human resources.

CLP - Certified Landscape Professional
A (6) hour written exam covering production/operations, horticulture, business planning, accounting, management, risk law, contracts, sales, marketing, communications, public relations, health, safety, and human resources.

CLT - Certified Landscape Technician
This exam is a full day event. The majority of the test is hands-on and performed in the field where the candidate selects from the specialty areas of landscape installation, maintenance or irrigation and all must complete the written portion for Common Core elements.

CLIA - Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor
A CLIA is involved in the analysis of landscape irrigation water use. To become a CLLA, individuals must attend a course and pass a specialized exam. The exams are designed to meet standards of validity, reliability and difficulty.
