Why are our plows pink?

Simple answer... because we care ! If you choose to read our painted picture https://troyclogg.com/painted-picture you will find many answers and details..... most importantly and the one that runs through all that we do is: We are in the Life Transformation business. This is our purpose. We strive to live a purpose driven life. Our passion , is the snow and landscape industry. So.... back to pink equipment ..... in 2011, after years of playing with the best deicer formula ... one that met the needs of contractors and clients alike... we decided to name it, color it and use it as a vehicle to educate and to give back to our community. Thus... Hot Pink Deicer was born . The next step was to really push this out into the market. So we decided to paint all of our plows and salters pink in color. Step one... ask the manufacturer of plows that we had been working with since 1992, to make us about 25 plows ( we would paint our existing plows pink ) . They said No Thank you!!! Huh... caught off guard and disappointed by their decision... we moved on.

First, we took all of their equipment of our trucks , whether it was 10 years old or just one year old... and we sold it!  Secondly we reached out to a couple plow manufactures to help us accomplish this ever so important step in .... transforming lives. So as not to get .. all our eggs in one basket... again... we were blessed to have one set of plows made by Meyer and another by Western (Douglas Dynamics ) See an article here.

Both companies were also generous enough to help us with salters. In the end , we placed orders for dozens of pieces of equipment and we add more most every year. Both of these manufacturers and since then Metalpless, has joined them (Metalpless makes the best loader/ skid steer wing plows and pusher boxes in North America as far as we are concerned) ... and the coolest part... they all stop their manufacturing lines.... clear our their colors whether it be red or some shade of yellow.... and they do a special and much appreciated run of JUST PINK equipment ! How cool is that? See... it proves what we have always believed and lived by.... people really do live / exist to help other people ! We have the utmost respect , appreciation and love for all that help us help others... those that help us transform lives.... those that have put their heart where it belongs.... cuz after all... life is all about living life with other human beings and caring as much or more about them that you do for yourself... .....

SO WHY ARE OUR PLOWS and SALTERS PINK ?  ..... because we we care and make efforts and decisions daily to transform lives !

The Salt Story... 2018/19 Shortage?

As I sit here enjoying a beautiful 80 degree day in mid July, it’s ironic to be talking about salt.  Actually, if you are in the “salt business”or are a snow contractor or property manager it’s late to be talking about...

How much should snow plowing cost for my home? Hmm...

This is a question that is commonly asked. What we can say is it certainly depends on the site. If you are a homeowner with a driveway and or sidewalk that needs to be cleared we, TCSA, may not be able to help you. Although we built our business over 3 decades ago working with and helping residential homeowners, we have found that the rate most are willing to pay does not allow us to employ the best and most educated team and drive the safest and best maintained vehicles, thus we are not the "cheap" guy for this work. However, to answer the question clearly we would suggest that the "average " driveway in the "average " snowfall in the Detroit area or any snow region that had a 40 to 60 inch total average winter should be at least $100.00 / per visit. Any person who invests tens of thousands of dollars for a truck, plow, insurance and more than works crazy unpredictable hours risking being sued warrants a fair and equitable return on their risks. -Troy Clogg TroyClogg.com

Why Did You Choose Snow & Landscape? Was It Your Father's Business First?

Well, I choose the industry, because the harder I worked the more I made, the more I made the sooner I could move out of my parents’ home and become self-sufficient. It's really no more than that. I tried college, actually a couple of them. Not for me. See, ever since I was young I believed that time and money should be viewed as an "investment" one that should get you where you want to be as soon as possible and with as much joy as possible along the journey.
